Introducing Save the Date…

…we’ve got a NEW collection!

Here at Hummingbird Cards we’ve been designing Save the Date cards to send to your loved ones, cards that will stay in everyone’s mind. Perfect reminders so your guests have plenty of time to plan their diaries. There’s lots of new designs from fashionable, stylish and chic postcard styles, to whimsy and retro luggage tags, something to suit everyone’s style! Hummingbird Cards’ Save the Dates are luxurious, quirky, and cute with an emphasis on quality that will make your wedding date truly unforgettable. Over the next few weeks we’ll share with you our new collections.

Here’s the first!

‘Key To My Heart’

Inspired by an old 21st birthday card my Mum had as a ‘key to the door’ card, this laser cut cute little key just had to make the collection. I’d loved a wood effect card quality GF Smith had in their range and never had a reason to use it – until now. As soon as we all saw the first samples in the studio we just loved it. We then added a pewter key too as it worked perfectly with all the softer shades of cosmetic, peach and silver grey. It’s a luggage tag style card and comes in a range of card colours, ribbons and cute strings. Match them with eco craft or ivory envelopes.

A few questions we get asked about Save the Date cards …

…do I need to send them?

We’re asked this question all the time, and the answer is no, you don’t have to. However, we recommend sending them to give your guests a little extra time to organise and prepare for your ‘Big Day’. Especially if you’re tying the knot somewhere far away or if your guests have to travel, book flights and hotels, it’s a busy holiday season or your wedding is on a week day (to give people longer to book time off from work.)

If you’ve got lots of friends and they’re all getting married in the same year, or worse still on the same day, get ‘first dibs’ and send your Save the Date cards early. Its best to avoid disappointment.

…when do I send them?

If you’re planning a destination wedding, getting married abroad or your guests are international, give at least a years notice.  If not, send your cards at least 6 months in advance of your wedding to avoid disappointment! Always let guests know on the Save the Date card that a formal invitation will follow too.

…I’ve sent them, do I still need to send an invitation?

Yes, you do. This is going to include all the specific details for you ceremony, times, venue, reception & RSVP cards.

…what should I choose?

Sending your Save the Dates is often the first step you make towards organising your special day,  so WOW them with something gorgeous. You may not know your wedding theme or don’t want to spoil the surprise of the wedding stationery theme, so pick something beautiful, set your standard and create the excitement and anticipation for the wedding ahead.

…a selection of favourites!

We love all our Save the Date cards, they can work so well for so many styles of wedding. You can pick from a palette of gorgeous wedding colours too for the card or ribbons.

Printed postcard Save the Dates from our Whimsical collection, something a little different and they’re quick and easy to order. What could be better, pick your design, colour and text, place an order and that’s it.

Luggage tag styles are perfect if you’ve got a vintage wedding or perhaps a destination wedding!

And finally the laser cut styles, always a stunning effect and something that stands out.
