Pic-nic Proposal

Summer weddings this year have been full of surprises and when Charlotte gave us a call with her own ideas for wedding stationery, they were beautifully personal!

Charlotte said ‘the design idea came from the place where my fiancé asked me to marry him. Its was a beautiful summers day in July, the day before my birthday and Alan had arranged a surprise picnic in Derbyshire, Lathkill Dale. There’s a river that runs alongside the walk, with a romantic waterfall where we pitched up with a hamper of goodies. Little did I know what goodies were inside!’

Charlotte’s sketches were turned into vintage laser cut invitations for the day and a beautiful print for the evening invites.

The swans were added to the design, as her married name will be Charlotte Emily Swan!

They’ve gone for a ‘Vintage Chic’ theme, using a soft dove grey as the main colour and used a palette of  pastels, such as lilac, peach and pinks to add a touch of colour.

Other lovely personal touches to the day have been carefully considered such as Sweet Peas in her bouquet as Alan’s Great Granddad was a chief sweet pea grower.

There’s lots more but the guest will just have to wait and see!

The Designer Vintage Bridal Show

This weekend we popped along to visit the  Designer Vintage Bridal Show - a wonderful collection of wedding suppliers: beautiful dresses, vintage crockery, event stylists, wedding shoes,  stylish transport, stationery, headpieces, jewellery and all you could possibly need for a vintage themed wedding day! A fantastic event which was buzzing with lots of stylish ladies all wanting a wedding with a bit of difference.

The stands all looked fantastic, they also had catwalk shows – showcasing dresses inspired by the 20′s& 30′s, 40′s & 50′s and 60′s and 70′s, bridal workshops, and the best bloggers around for you to meet in person: Including Kelly from Boho, Annabel from Love My Dress, Amma from Beyond/Beyond, Alexis from OMG and Kat from RockN’Roll Bride.

There was the gorgeous Wedding Yurt  complete with fur floors, double bed and champagne bar serving love potion cocktails. Beautiful, alternative Wedding Photography from the amazing Emma Case, jewellery from Magpie Vintage, fabulous shoes from the lady who organised the whole event Rachel Simpson and our favourite stand was Charlotte Casadejus who had exquisite vintage inspired dresses (beautiful vintage lace and silk gowns made to measure!) and a selection of stunning vintage accessories.

Definately worth visiting when they have there next show, if you would like to see a list of all the exhibitors and get all the best vintage wedding inspiration just click HERE

Where do we get our inspiration from?

This is a question we’re regularly asked!

As we look forward to launching our new website we are also looking ahead to new season designs & ideas. We love to spend a day being inspired & this month we took a trip to Newark Antiques Fair.

Newark is just incredible! It’s amazing what a day browsing for new ideas can do to ignite your imagination! The fair is one of Britain’s best for anyone interested in anything antique, vintage or shabby chic!

Definitely worth a visit. It’s just huge (covering some 100 acres with around 4,000 stalls!) so no matter what you love we’re sure you’ll find something to buy (we did!)

Newark is just one of the fairs organised by the iacf (International Antiques & Collectors Fairs!) You can see where & when other fairs are being held this year over at their website.
