Happy Day
Some days I just have to pinch myself at how lucky I am.
I have such a wonderful inspirational, creative and hard working team who put up with my endless requests, questions, design thoughts and ideas. Today I’m working from my home office as I’m needing a little time out to focus the mind and sort lots of lovely quotes for wedding stationery orders. My pups are curled up on the sofa, the ducks are making rather a lot of noise in the garden and my cat is chilling in the dog basket!
As a little thank you to my very special Hummingbird team, we all went on a Silversmithing course at Louise Mary’s amazing workshop. I have to admit I never thought we’d all have such a wonderful, fun, creative and productive day. Once we’d starting making you just couldn’t stop us. By the end of the day we realised we all had our own styles and the treasures we came home with were stunning. The magic and alchemy of making jewellery is a treat for your soul, you make something so very precious and personal.
Louise is a wonderful, patient and inspirational tutor and a very generous host. We had a morning of tuition and started making our first piece of jewellery followed by a little break for lunch. Well it was more of a mini feast, we’d selected a ploughman’s lunch but we had endless cheeses, hot baguettes, fruits, salad, pickles and more. After lunch the production picked up as we’d gained a little knowledge, experience, confidence and respect for this beautiful art.
Her studio and workshops are an escape from the everyday, literally at the end of a farm track. Louise can cater for parties of four in her cosy and fully equipped studio.
