Our 2021 Message From Us To You

This is our first post in a long time, after a very strange and difficult year. We’re feeling refreshed after a comforted and cocooned Christmas and ready for a new start.

As all our weddings were put on hold we pressed pause for a few weeks last March and April and temporarily closed the studio doors. We opened again selling our greeting cards and gifts from our Not On The High Street store. There were immense highs and lows as we struggled as an isolated team, some furloughed and others trying to manoeuvre their way through the Royal Mail postal backlog nightmare.

But the pause gave us time to reflect and spend time creating new designs and even develop completely new products. It felt like a gift and on reflection we kind of loved the challenge (I can say that now, but at the time it felt very different!). And out of all this came ‘Hummingbird Homebody’ our NEW and exciting brand. Without our wonderful wedding stationery business, we had to quickly diversify. As we spend more time in our homes, our sanctuaries, it felt right to start a new adventure and create home and living goodies for us, for you and for all our loved ones. We started with our hand-poured vegan, soya and coconut wax candles and wax melts with botanical essential oils and fragrances. We’ll be adding new and exciting homebody products soon, which we can’t wait to share with you.

This week we have been busy in the studio catching up with our couples from last year, those whose weddings had to be postponed and new ones for weddings later this year. There’s been lots of exciting chat with ideas for new designs and products for our 2021 wedding stationery collection, which you’ll start to see in the coming months.

Thank you to all our lovely customers who’ve supported us through this challenging time, for all the lovely messages which picked us up when we were feeling down and for supporting small businesses.

So with a new and optimistic energy that is emerging for a new future, we are looking forward to revived possibilities and change.  We want to find comfort and a greater sense of self through nature, use natural materials and care for those around us. Create for our sanctuary spaces, for friends and family, for baby and child, design mindfully, and above all to look after and treat ourselves better.

After everything we have all been through, we have learnt what is most important and precious to us.
