Story book Bride… Alice in Wonderland Wedding

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is popping up everywhere!

We keep spotting Alice all over the place.

Did you know Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland turned 150 years old this year?

We love the magical story that inspires your dreams and imagination, taking you to amazing and wonderful places. The illustrations over the years created by so many artists have inspired us and so many couples who love the fairy-tale for a magical wedding theme! So if you’re a little bit bonkers and like us you’ve spent hours watching spellbound, movies with the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, mice popping out of teapots and miniature ‘drink me’ bottles or a nose pressed up against pages covered in beautiful illustrations you may want to check out the dates for all the brilliant exhibitions and events taking place across the UK, now until the early part of 2016.

If you’re a book lover you may also want to check out the newly issued collection, designed and illustrated by Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co. Anne of Green Gables, Heidi, Little Women,  A Little Princess and of course Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland are all part of the collection, so collect one or collect them all. (Available at our fav shop Anthropologie.)

Then we read that the recent Save the Children Secret Winter Gala held an Alice in Wonderland-themed extravaganza which raised over £1m. They has a ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ entrance and guests could visit the Caterpillar in his shisha den and meet Pinky the Flamingo too! Special guest Helena Bonham Carter wore an ever so slightly eccentric but gorgeous net fascinator, with cute rabbit ears, which went with the evening’s theme, and the film close to her heart.

Uber glam: Helena Bonham-Carter pulled it out of the bag in the style stakes as she stepped out at a charity event in London on Wednesday

Talking of films Alice Through The Looking Glass is due for release May 2016, check out the amazing trailer!

Then we found that the Royal Mail were celebrating 150 years of Britain’s best loved story too with a set of ten iconic scenes and characters: The White Rabbit, Drink Me, The Cheshire Cat, The Queen of Hearts, Alice’s Evidence, Down the Rabbit Hole, The White Rabbit’s House, A Mad Tea Party, The Game of Croquet and A Pack of Cards.

Here’s a few ideas we’ve pulled together from our designs which we think work perfectly!

SONY DSC

We love the little key element and the ‘Key to My Heart’ Save the Date mini luggage tag style cards with laser cut keys in both wood and silver pewter are just perfect. You can also use the laser cut keys as charms on place cards or on favour gifts.
